As one of the first (and most prolific) party book authors, Patty Sachs is a nationally-recognized party planning expert, wedding planner, wedding coach and speaker. Known for her creative, easy-to-follow entertaining ideas, Patty is a favorite with party hosts worldwide.
As an author, Patty wrote numerous books including these popular titles in the Pick-a-Party series from Meadowbrook Press: Pick-a-Party: The Big Book of Party Themes and Occasions and Pick A Party: The Big Book of Party Menus, Recipes and Table Décor. She also wrote 52 Totally Unique Theme Parties, Weddings, Parties and Celebrations and Your Y2K Bash Will be a Smash…Not a Crash. With her partner, Phyllis Cambria, she is co-author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Throwing a Great Party (Alpha Books/Macmillan) and The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Choosing a Caterer (Alpha Books/Penguin). Patty and Phyllis also created custom content for Cuisinart, GreatEntertaining.com, Giant Eagle Supermarkets and Hormel Foods.
Patty has become a frequent expert source for numerous local and national publications and has written articles for Party & Paper Retailer, BALLOONS & Parties Magazine, Event Solutions, Best Weddings, Lifestyle Choices and dozens of other magazines, newspapers, newsletters and websites.
Audiences have also had a chance to enjoy her tips and tactics during the dozens of radio interviews and TV appearances she's given on stations nationwide. And, her many years as a professional singer and entertainer makes her a natural when appearing in front of a live audience or on camera.
During her more than 30 years working as a professional planner, Patty has worked on dozens of weddings, corporate events, grand openings, social events, expos, fundraisers and other special events and parties. With Phyllis, she has worked as the Education Coordination for the TransWorld National Halloween, Costume and Party Show and the Las Vegas Halloween and Party Show for more than five years.
Along with Phyllis, Patty co-owns PartyPlansPlus.com, an information and product website for party hosts and other event planners; WeddingPlansPlus.com where they dispense useful tips for engaged couples; and WeddingCoachPlus.com where couples can get expert guidance for planning a stress-free wedding and beginning their married life in sync. They also own SpeakersWritersPlus.com where companies hire their services as speakers, spokespersons or to write custom content for their company or various publications.
As a speaker, Patty has used her business acumen and creative promotion and party ideas to educate and enthrall audiences at numerous events including Chicago Gift and Merchandise Shows (numerous bookings), Alabama Parks and Recreation conference, American Rental Association, National Roller Skating Association, The Special Event, Women in Business Expo, Midwest Caterer's Association, 1-800-PartyShop Conference, Event Solutions Expo and dozens of other trade and consumer shows.
Patty was the national spokesperson for GreatEntertaining.com and the Celebrations Spokesperson for Polaroid where she represented the companies during countless radio and TV appearances and interviews with the press.
Patty spent most of her life in Minneapolis and currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida, but her home is wherever her friends and family gather.
