Decorations – Creating Your Casino
-
Purchase
oversized playing cards or use a color copier to enlarge regular
playing cards and mount on cardstock to hang around your party site.
-
Name the casino after the guest of
honor and use small twinkle lights or rope lights to outline their
name on a
custom banner.
-
Use twinkle lights to outline doors
and your room and put them in the flashing mode.
-
Hang
signs over each “gaming area” naming the activity offered there.
-
Create a lounge area for music and
dancing.
-
Just like on the Vegas Strip, give
your casino a theme. It's also a great way to recycle
western,
luau,
fiesta,
decade themes such as '20s, '50s, '60s, '70s disco,
Hollywood,
Mardi Gras,
sports,
safari,
Asian,
beach party,
pirate or
patriotic party supplies from past parties.
-
In a hurry and looking for a quick
and easy way to spruce up your space? Buy an entire
casino party theme decoration pack so that you can decorate in
minutes.
Activities – Gaming and Games
-
Affix a
mini playing card to each name tag. Challenge guests to present
themselves in a group to show a winning poker hand for prizes.
-
Upon their arrival, give each guest a
fixed amount of “funny
money" or
chips. Make sure your guests know the “value” of the chips if
they’re not plainly marked. (You can make up signs near each gaming
area with a chip glued to the poster and the value clearly marked next
to it for easy reference.)
-
Hire some help or enlist some
volunteers to serve as dealers and croupiers.

REFRESHMENTS – FOOD AND DRINK BEST BETS
-
Finger foods work best here since
folks won’t want to take time from “the action” to eat. But use
gambling-themed paper products to keep their mind on the game.
-
Costume your servers to match your casino’s decor.
-
Use cardboard cutouts of suits
(heart, diamond, club and spade) as trivets for your buffet table.
-
Make colored Jell-O squares. Use
cake decorating products to turn them into “dice” or card suits.
-
Serve heaping trays of foil-covered
chocolate or candy coins.
